Oriana House Executive Vice President of Operations Anne Connell-Freund testified before a United States Congressional House Briefing and a Senate Judiciary Briefing on March 6, 2018 in Washington, D.C. The briefings were about community corrections, reducing crime and reducing recidivism.
Connell-Freund was asked to testify on behalf of Oriana House, Inc. and the International Community Corrections Association, where she is a past president. Connell-Freund provided detailed information about residential community corrections at both the state and federal levels. Connell- Freund was on a panel with Mark Jenkins, retired chief probation officer from San Diego, California, and Veronica Cunningham, executive director of American Probation and Parole Association, Lexington, Kentucky. The panel was moderated by the National Association of Drug Court Professionals Director of Advancing Justice Melissa Fitzgerald.
