Research

Oriana House has a Research Department dedicated to providing expertise to all Oriana House programs by linking research on best practices with practical considerations of service delivery in a real world setting. The research staff assist in program and policy development, evaluate the results, determine strategies for quality improvements, and provide implementation expertise.

The Research Department also does ad hoc projects and collaborates on academic and professional research projects.

Services & Products

Assists programs with the development of a variety of means of collecting, analyzing, and reporting data in order to track program improvement and implementation of best practices.

Using the Correctional Program Assessment Inventory (CPAI), detailed evaluation of processes in Oriana House programs are conducted with suggestions for improvement based on evidenced based practices accepted by the Ohio Department of Rehabilitation and Correction.

Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) Coaches/Specialists work in most facilities to support staff in their use of evidence based practice interventions. CQI staff provide feedback on client interactions through direct observations and audio reviews, facilitate teachback and booster trainings, and instruct multiple in-service trainings to assist staff in developing and implementing skills.

A web based data tracking system provides real time data on staff proficiency in various evidence based practice interventions including EPICS II (Effective Practices in Community Supervision), Core Correctional Practices, and Motivational Interviewing.

On-going standardized surveys of how clients perceive the treatment and services provided at Oriana House. A requirement of the American Correctional Association.

An annual survey of referral sources (judges, bailiffs, and probation and parole officers) to determine their perception of the efficiency of the referral process.

Provides statistical information, assists with the goals, objectives, and measurements required for grant applications, and helps with the implementation of grants post-award.
