Oriana House Director of Admissions Julie Howe recently had the honor of presenting two awards at the American Probation and Parole Association’s (APPA) Annual Training Institute. Howe presented the Line Officer of the Year Award and the Member of the Year Award.

APPA is the leading professional membership organization for probation and parole professionals, providing education, training, and resources that advance the profession and promote effective practices.

Howe has been actively involved with APPA for more than 30 years and is a lifetime member of the organization. She currently serves as Chair of the Awards Committee and has previously served on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee, as well as Program Chair.

Howe’s involvement with APPA reflects Oriana House’s commitment to professional leadership and continuous improvement. Throughout the agency, numerous Oriana House staff members are actively involved in professional associations that promote research-based best practices designed to reduce recidivism and support individuals in making positive, lasting changes in their lives.
